Holiday Inn Continental - Riverbed garden
This nature inspired design wants to evoke a natural scenery using the high ceiling to create a garden consisting of three levels that each can be seen as a section of a forest, from the top of the canopy to the forest floor.
The focal point of the garden is a 5m long suspended branch built of cork weighing no more than 50kg. It has epiphytic plants growing on it and automatic irrigation.
In the ceiling there are hanging planters with a cascading canopy of several meters long plants.
The ground level consist of a mix of rocks and plants inspired by a river bed. A couple of times per day the rocks are irrigated, changing their texture and becoming a more alive element as they are slowly changing from wet to dry several times per day.
